Edgar Torres gives us a Hip-Hop flavored approach in our continuing LeBron James Lifestyle Design series, with an urban styled concept sneaker. As we originally announced here, the next generation of designers at Project Bluefoot were recently tasked with the design challenge of creating a Lifestyle-themed footwear product for LeBron James. We have teamed up exclusively with Project Bluefoot to allow each designer to essentially “takeover” the Counter Kicks shoe silhouette logo with their Lifestyle LeBron concept and provide the backstory to it. Check the bottom of this post for a complete listing of all our previously featured designers. Continue reading to see Edgar Torres’ 3 design boards and full backstory.
My first instinct on the LeBron James Lifestyle Design would be based on LeBron’s lifestyle off the court. Research shows me that LeBron is inspired by Hip Hop culture, and he also likes to wear stylish clothes and watches. Furthermore, his love for basketball is more than just a game. So a shoe design could not be anything less. So for this Lifestyle shoe design I went with an urban approach. Lets face it, a lifestyle shoe should not be complicated to wear. The design is simple and clean but yet bold enough in design to attract the attention of any sneaker head. The sneaker is made with premium leather with contrast stitching, and has engraving patterns, which were inspired by LeBron’s tattoos. The pattern design includes scrolls, crowns and the L23 logo. Other elements used were to capture that urban flavor and comes in a variety of colorways to compliment anyone’s wardrobe. This shoe is truly fit for a King…King James that is!
