Starting off this week in our LeBron James Lifestyle Design series is this “King’s Posse” Concept from aspiring designer Joseph Dumary. As we initially announced here with E. Brent James and also brought you the Lifestyle Design of 2009 Nike Future Sole Winner Austin Jermacans here, the next generation of designers at Project Bluefoot were recently tasked with the design challenge of creating a Lifestyle-themed footwear product for LeBron James. The designers were allowed to submit up to 3 Concept Boards to illustrate their presentation and provide a design description for their composition. We have teamed up exclusively with Project Bluefoot to allow each designer to essentially “takeover” the Counter Kicks shoe silhouette logo with their Lifestyle LeBron concept and provide the backstory to it. Look for new unveilings over the next couple weeks. Continue reading to see Joseph Dumary‘s 3 design boards and full backstory.
The kingdom of King James welcomes the Nike “KP” for King’s Posse. The inspiration comes from famous and mythical monuments of the world such as the Viaduc of Millau in France, and the “Citadelle Laferrière”, the most famous citadelle to the world. The life of the King, LeBron James, inspired this shoe from his beginning days to the MVP player which we now know of. The “Toussaint Louverture’s” mind symbolizes the fight which leads Lebron to become the most attractive athlete to the world. The glossy lines throughout the shoe and its long-lasting (sustainable), light, and well-proven materials give the shoe all its value. The tongue comes in pure leather with a scratched on swoosh, and light suede with a lining for more durability. The number “23″ is anchored on the leather and the glossy plastic swoosh moves with the leather to modify the appearance to produce a more attractive silhouette. The phylon midsole is modified for a lightweight ride joined by a 4 way cushioning system for increased comfort. Modified solid rubber outsole provides traction. This shoe is made to be a part of King’s posse, a shoe specially made for the lifestyle and integration to the kingdom of King James. -Joseph Dumary
