
The engineers at Nike are working hard at all times to find ways to innovate in their products to adhere to the constant demands of their athletes, the everyday consumer, and the environment. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it. Enter the new Air Max BW Gen II and Nike Torch technology. Nike Torch takes on characteristics of three separate components found on athletic footwear. The diamond-like exterior protects and retains the shape of the sneaker. A middle layer provides added support. Finally, an inner layer wicks moisture and provides breathability. On top of this, the Air Max BW Gen II will also be produced under Nike’s Considered guidelines which place an emphasis on environmentally sustainable design. The Air Max BW won’t be the only shoe undergoing a Torch-over; look for this technology used in favorites such as the Air Force 1 and the Air Maxim 1 as 2010 progresses.
