

The model that fictional slugger Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez made famous in the movie The Sandlot is making a comeback in three new versions this winter. This latest PF Flyers Center Hi release produces Grey Quilted Textile/Leather, Tan Nylon/Leather, and Black Nylon/Leather styles. As with the Glide, the new Center Hi’s feature terry lining, a padded tongue, and the Posture Foundation insole. Center Hi debuted in 1953 and quickly became a ubiquitous ‘50s icon. Ads of the era claimed PF Flyers shoes could make you “Run Faster, Jump Higher” as well as “play at full speed longer.” These boasts created a mystique about the brand that established the footwear’s particularly feverish popularity throughout the ‘50s and ‘60s.
