Ron Artest, endorser of Chinese sportswear brand PEAK, recently revealed on Twitter that his feet are suffering from plantar fasciitis. According to a Los Angeles Times story out today, Los Angeles Lakers Coach Phil Jackson thinks it may have to do with the shoes: “I’ve called his shoes concrete boots for about the last month. Those shoes look like they are made for the Hudson River. But he stays with them and he gets his feet worked on. But he does not move really quickly. He looks like he’s clogging around out there.”
With the disclosure of Artest’s injury, Jackson says Artest may have to sit out games if the impairment continues to affect his play. Speaking out on the situation this morning on his official Twitter account @ThugRaider37, Artest responded: “Coach Phil Jackson made a statement that my shoes are the reason my feet were hurting. He has no evidence. I love my shoe company. Peak.” Continue reading to see game photos of some of the PEAK shoes Ron Artest has been wearing this NBA season.

Never played in Peaks but they look like they need to step up their design game anyways. Li Ning’s like miles ahead of em right now
Damn coach Jax went right at them shoes. Lol
lol phil went off on those
Even Kobe had Plantar Faciitis when he was wearing his Hurache 2k5s. Tony Parker is having it right now with his Nikes. Thats strange that Phil would call out Peak like that. He must really be seeing a difference in the way Ron Ron plays. Either that or he’s making excuses cause the Lakers have been slipping lately.
Yeah maybe it’s true…who knows?
I have been fighting it for two years wearing nothing but Nikes and adidas. Not saying it is NOT the shoes, but maybe the type of shoes. Sorry, Phil, you showed your Nike money on this one.
…I don’t believe it’s due to Peak.
I also suffered for plantar fascitis and I was wearing Jordan Pro Quick at that time…my idea is that fascittis is something like an evolution from a different previous problem that affects the correct foot motion dynamic…and you percieve it just once it’s too bad to solve it quickly. In my case I had to use custom orthotics to solve it.
That said, coach Jax is a genius, so I think he used that to push Ron Ron to play better, even with pain.
Ciaooo
Jax has no clue about shoes. The Peaks are certainly not bad for your feet. Nikes are made in China too! So there is not too much of a difference. That said… too many players kill their ankles with thick air cushions which make you to stand too high above the ground. The Peaks are o.k. in that respect.
i agree that phil jackson is sowing his nike money when he went straight for te peak shoes.
