
Inventor Blake Bevin recently made an appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” to showcase her Power Laces 2.0. While her Power Laces 1.0 featured an external motor, the new edition features mechanical and electrical components integrated into the shoe. The first edition concept drew 1.4 million views on YouTube in less than a week in July. Bevin spoke with CounterKicks by phone, explaining that a marketable version could be attached and “adaptable to any shoe”. She is currently seeking to raise $25,000 by October 11th to bring Power Laces 2.0 to a production-ready stage. With Bevin’s invention inching closer to manufacture and Nike’s patent filing for its own automatic laces creating a stir, the race is on to bring the future to your feet.
