This past Wednesday, Athletic Propulsion Labs‘ League-banned shoe was allowed in the NBA.
Sorta. As seen below, in a bit of guerrilla marketing, the $300 APL Concept 1 shoe that was recently banned by the NBA was digitally plastered everywhere inside the Staples Center for the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder game.
Taking up signage under the big scoreboard monitors and stretching out across the entire arena with LED ribbons were Athletic Propulsion Labs “BANNED BY THE NBA” digital promos.
While the NBA won’t allow its players to wear APL’s shoes underfoot, it looks to be legal for players to be seen with them overhead.
