Bryan Hinkle lists his year-end top sneaker performance picks.
In a year that saw some companies make a comeback and some just make an appearance, it was the tried and tested brands who fared best, in my mind, overall. With one big surprise, of course.
I tried many different shoes this year, more than most, thanks to this website. After testing all the different styles and brands, I feel like a Foot Locker guinea pig, but in a good way. I wore highs, lows, and all in between, played more ball than I had since college, and constantly had people asking me how I liked certain shoes. I tried to open eyes of players and readers everywhere to different ideas and concepts, not just the tried and true “walk into the Finish Line and grab a pair because it is on the top shelf” approach. With all my wears, here are my picks for several different categories. (Disclaimer: I left out any shoe released since December 1 due to lack of testing time.)
