The Kennedy family history in Massachusetts is long and storied. New Balance’s legacy in the state may not be as long but is certainly storied in its own right.

Enter Concepts. The Cambridge, MA-based boutique has created a special New Balance 999 to honor the Kennedy family’s favorite son.

Dubbed “The Kennedy”, this sneaker recognizes President John F. Kennedy’s well-known love of sailing Nantucket Sound off of Hyannis, Cape Cod.

The shoe features grey, tan and blue overlays, as well as nautical flags on the tongue and sail print on the sockliner.

Releases March 2011.
