CounterKicks Exclusive Look At The Li-Ning BRASSMONKEY.
Here’s an exclusive first look at the shoe Evan Turner will debut at NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles next month and wear for the second half of the season: the Li-Ning BRASSMONKEY.
The performance basketball shoe features an exaggerated top line collar and tooling, external molded heel counter, and a solid rubber herringbone traction based outsole. BRASSMONKEY will debut in four launch colorways seen below:
- Silver/Black (Evan Turner “All-Star” Edition)
- Black/Red
- White/Blue/Red
- Blue/Red/White
The “BRASSMONKEY” name was inspired by the 1987 Beastie Boys song title from the classic “Licensed to Ill” album.

Rockin shoe name. I hope Li-Ning goes lighter and simpler with it’s next designs. They are doing great with original designs and the original Dooms are classic but these look like a lot of shoe, a lot of rubber. It stands out though; more than I can say about other brands lately. I want to see more F2 minimalist shoes from Li-Ning! Thanks for the info ck.
