The Bulls know.
Derrick Rose, aka “Pooh”, can average 24.7 points, 8 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1 steal per game. He can lead the Bulls to a Central Division leading 29-14 record, good for third place in the Eastern Conference. He can make a strong case for league MVP. And he can simply be the difference-maker in any given matchup. Which is what he did last night against Dallas.
Pooh (his childhood nickname) recorded 26 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists, and 2 blocks to lead the Chicago Bulls over the visiting Mavericks, 82-77. We’d better enjoy seeing Rose/Pooh cut up the court in his adidas adiZero Rose while we still can, as the adiZero Rose 1.5 is just around the corner.
In Charlotte, the Bobcats continued to make the case that they’re a new Team Jordan, as Stephen Jackson, Gerald Wallace, D.J. Augustin, Shaun Livingston, Dominic McGuire, and Nazr Mohammed each donned Jordan Brand shoes in a 100-97 win over the 76ers. Tyrus Thomas would have joined in the JB fun but he’s out for 8 weeks with a torn meniscus in his left knee.
The new Nike Air Max Fly By appears destined to be an NBA kicks staple like its Zoom Hyperfuse and Hyperdunk 2010 cousins, showing up on the feet of Shawn Marion, Luol Deng, and Blake Griffin again.
The rest of the NBA Kicks action saw a mix of the usuals. But the usuals never get boring, right?
Pooh and friends ahead in NBA Kicks…
