This Kobe’s For Locals Only.
Originally perceived to be the “Chaos” model of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI, this actually turns out to be another dedication pack in time for the Chinese New Year. The special make-up takes cues from a subtle, yet historical aspect of China’s culture: porcelain. The genesis of porcelain began in China and this colorway adopts the white and deep purple hues of traditional Chinese porcelain. On the lacelock, Nike mates the culture of the country with the character of Kobe. Two black mamba snakes are positioned around the number 24 to form the Reishi mushroom, a symbol for goodluck and happiness in the country of China.
The “China” tribute shoe will fittingly see a release in China only on February 2, 2011, at a price of 1299 yuan ($197 USD). A commemorative t-shirt will also release in conjunction with the shoes the same day, at 249 yuan ($38 USD).
