CK: What is a runner getting with a K-Swiss running shoe that they aren’t with another brand?

Bond: The runner is getting a shoe that feels better. Why? A runner is getting state-of-the art honest innovation from K-Swiss. We have re-engineered every single aspect of running shoes to make them feel better. For example, we developed Superfoam. Superfoam is a longer lasting, bouncier foam. Guideglide is a construction technique that allows our shoes have a more stable and smoother heel-to-toe transition. Flowcool Tech makes our shoes more breathable than other shoes. Aosta rubber lasts longer and Duraplush rubber feels better. Both Blades and Tubes provide distinct cushioning benefits. Add it all up and our stuff feels better. If you don’t believe me, try it.

CK: What’s the biggest mistake new runners can make when buying new running shoes? Any advice for new runners?

Bond: The biggest mistake a runner can make would be to assume that the biggest companies make the best product. McDonalds sells more hamburgers than anyone else, but their burgers suck compared to In-N-Out, for example. In-N-Out is much smaller than McDonalds, but they use better/fresher ingredients and have better cooking techniques. And their burgers rock!

K-Swiss is like In-N-Out. Our running shoes use better foams, better constructions, and better technologies. Nike/adidas is like McDonalds. Some people choose McDonalds. Not me. I would tell all runners to “taste” before you choose. I would recommend to not eat junk food and not buy junk shoes.

I run in my Tubes no problems whatsoever yet and the shoes are real comfy too. Didn’t know too much about the specific tech so it’s nice to see K-Swiss explain it here.

Thanks for all the running interviews on this site!

K-Swiss making big strides over the last year. I haven’t tried tubes yet but it’s good to have another brand coming into Running field. Loved hearing how the shoes are designed from the brief to 2D and prototypes, very interesting info. Great interview.
