Running company Merrell is throwing its hat in the barefoot running ring.
The 30-year-old brand has launched a microsite – Merrell.com/barefoot – to coincide with the introduction of its first barefoot running shoe collection. The microsite will also serve as a resource for how to train for and begin barefoot running.
Accompanying this shoe debut will be the Merrell Bareform Training Technique, a regimen that teaches proper running form, strengthening, and flexibility. In March, the brand is expected to introduce a barefoot training iPhone application to ease runners into the stripped down running method with training intervals, as well as a Merrell Barefoot iTunes mix based on the 180-beats-per-minute pace of a natural running stride.
The Merrell Barefoot Collection is available now at Merrell.com.
In the video below, barefoot running expert Jason Robillard explains what the method is and how it impacts your body.
