Carmelo is home.
Carmelo Anthony made his debut as a member of the New York Knicks last night, posting a Melo-esque stat line of 27 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals to help his new team to a home win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Anthony was introduced first, with the Diddy/Skylar Grey track “Coming Home” preceding his walk onto the floor to a raucous standing ovation. The moment was almost enough to make one forget what shoes Anthony was wearing. Which wouldn’t necessarily have been a bad thing. Anthony didn’t break out anything crazy, anything exclusive. Just a standard issue pair of Jordan Melo M7 in White/Navy. But fear not, Jordan Brand is cooking up something special for Melo to wear.
In Toronto, Derrick Rose also made a new in-season debut. Wearing the Black/White/Red adidas adiZero Rose 1.5, Pooh dropped 32 points and 10 assists but the Raptors held off the Bulls, 118-113. In Orlando, Gilbert Arenas broke out the Air Jordan 9 Retro in its classic White/Black, scoring 6 points off the bench in a 111-105 loss to the visiting and severely slumping Sacramento Kings. Kobe led the Lakers to a 106-101 comeback win in Portland, lacing up a gradient purple edition of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI to notch 37 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.
All of these kicks, including John Wall’s continued run in the Reebok Question and Joakim Noah’s return in the Le Coq Sportif Pro Model, ahead in NBA Kicks…
