3-Point King.
Last night, Ray Allen finally broke Reggie Miller’s all-time record for 3-pointers made, passing the former Pacer with 2 long-range shots in the first quarter of the Celtics’ home matchup with the Lakers. But the fun ended shortly thereafter. The Celtics blew a 15-point lead, with Kobe Bryant scoring 20 of his 23 points in the second half, and the Lakers took control of the game to win, 92-86. At least Ray celebrated in style. During warmups, he wore the White/Gold Bin23 Air Jordan IX with green laces on his left foot and the White/Gold-Green “Ring Ceremony” Air Jordan XI on his right foot. Maybe Ray was trying to throw up a smokescreen to baffle any sneaker watchers within camera range. Instead of one or the other for game time, it was neither. He broke out a pair of White/Green Air Jordan XIII with green laces, scoring 20 points and going 3-for-8 from downtown.
Out west, J.R. Smith also wore multiple shoes, switching between two Nuggets colorways of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI during Arron Afflalo’s game-winning-shot performance. Vince Carter settled on a Purple/Orange pair of Nike Air Max Hyperdunk 2010 to help the Suns to victory.
