What we’ve all been calling the “Air Jordan 2 Max” thus far gets an official name and release date here. Meet the retooled Air Jordan 2.0.

In what we’d guess is the launch of a new series of Air Jordan-based models, the Air Jordan II gets an updated tech feel with a 360 Max Air unit replacing the simple foam and encapsulated Air that cushioned the original model. Hence, version 2.0. New technology takes on old assets.

First Air Jordan 2.0 colorway coming is White/Black/Varsity Red with a June 4, 2011 release date. Retail is $160. We’ll keep our eyes peeled to see what other original Air Jordan styles get enhanced rides.
