Dirk & Friends head to NBA Finals.

The Thunder played Game 5 like they were going back home alive for another try, even maintaining a modest lead going into the fourth quarter. Forget it. The Mavs came back again, capped off by a big three late by Dirk Nowitzki aka The Diggler (Nike Hyperdunk 2010), whose 26 points matched Shawn Marion’s (Nike Air Max Fly By) 26 to wrap up the series in 5, 100-96. Jason Kidd only added 2 points but came up with 7 boards, 10 assists, 1 steal and 2 pair of PEAK Kidd III‘s – White/Blue, then Blue/Blue.

Kevin Durant wore his “Scoring Title” Away Nike Zoom KD III for 23 and Russell Westbrook notched 31 in his road Nike Zoom Hyperfuse. Besides the series, another loss is the fact that kicks watchers won’t have KD’s and Russy’s feet to gawk at anymore this season. Or maybe even next season if the lockout goes down. At least we know what the Nike Zoom KD IV looks like. And we’ve already seen Hyperfuse-crazy Westbrook in the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011. So yeah. All not completely lost.

As we wait to see who the Mavs will play in the Finals, check out last night’s Game 5 shoe summary in NBA Kicks…
