Get on outta here!
Despite Kobe Bryant’s pride telling us the Lakers would fight back and win four straight, reality prevailed. Momentum notwithstanding, the Mavs simply steamrolled LA yesterday, notching the final victory needed to vanquish the 2-time defending champs, 122-86. Super sub Jason Terry (Reebok Zig Slash) poured in a game high 32 points, including nine of 10 from 3-point range, while fellow benchers Peja Stojakovic (6-6 3-pointers) added 21 and J.J. Barea (Converse Star Player EVO Low) scored 22. Dirk (Nike Hyperdunk 2010) put in 17. Kobe also had 17, wearing his tour yellow Nike Zoom Kobe VI‘s again. Lamar Odom added 10 in his yellow/purple Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 before getting ejected for an elbow in Dirk’s chest. The Mavs move on to host the eventual winner of the Memphis-OKC series.
The Hawks evened their series with the Bulls yesterday. Damien Wilkins freshened up the kicks scene a bit, wearing the Jordan Fly Wade in 1 minute off the bench for 0 points. Joe Johnson switched from the Jordan Prime 5 to the Jordan Phase 23 Hoops to score 24, and Josh Smith stayed with his adidas Pro Model 2010 Lux to put in 23. D-Rose recorded 34 in the adidas adiZero Rose 1.5. Game 5 back in Chicago on Tuesday night.
