Kobe 7 cushioning and heel specs.
The Nike Zoom Kobe VII faucet continues to leak for the third day in a row, after our initial first look at Kobe Bryant’s next signature shoe. These just surfaced ZKVII shots add greater context and clues to the evolution of the model.
To start, this particular Zoom Kobe VII sample shows cushioning embedded directly underneath the insole, with individual Zoom Air units at the heel and forefoot. The forefoot Zoom Air bag exhibited here continues to be the smaller sized “met” unit as opposed to a full-forefoot surface component. Kobe has expressed his preference in the past for the reduced size Zoom Air unit as he feels it gives him better court feel and response time on lateral moves. This featured Zoom Air heel, forefoot met bag setup has been in place each year on Kobe’s line since the Zoom Kobe V.
The other photo reveals another refinement to the heel design of the Zoom Kobe VII, with a translucent coated TPU heel counter inscribed with Kobe’s signature. Behind it, the upper pattern covering the heel appears to be more in line with our original prototype look at the Kobe VII with 3D print line segmentations as opposed to the sample round Kobe VII showing variations of a snakeskin pattern.

Nice details, Kobe’s signature is so elongated, they should slide it to a side, it’ll give a better flow.
And interesting Nike’s going back to the Zoom/Air-sockliners.
The shoe looks great though, hope they don’t change ‘em too much till they release.
they shpould get rid of the “met” zoom bag and replace it with a fully articulated zoom forefoot bag like the AJ 2009
