Dwight’s Spring 2012 sig shoe in five colorways.
adiPower Howard 2 returns on an ALIVE cushioning based platform and marks the first appearance of miCoach functionality into adidas’ performance basketball line.
We preview the Howard 2 in five Spring 2012 colorways. There’s the customary Orlando Magic black/blue/white “home” and white/blue/black “away” versions. A black and silver stealth-like model. A likely 2012 NBA All-Star Game shoe featuring a high energy orange makeup with gold accenting and a synthetic brushed hardwood clear print material on the upper. And finally a special China exclusive “Lei Feng” edition.
Lei Feng was a soldier in the People’s Liberation Army in China and has since become a cultural icon in the country representing the values of selflessness, discipline, modesty, volunteerism, and dedication to all Chinese. In recognition of Lei Feng, his special adiPower Howard 2 shoe takes on a primary military green hue to match his soldier uniform contrasted with Dwight’s Magic team uniform colors for accenting. The shoe features a repeating “screw” pattern upper design symbolizing Lei Feng’s commitment to helping out and holding things together through hard work and keeping a moral code. The shoe features a combination of rich nubuck and leather material selections and comes with two sets of dual-colored laces, packaged inside a special China edition box. The “Lei Feng” adidas adiPower Howard releases as a China exclusive on March 5, 2011. On the lateral heels of the shoe, “March 5th,” which is a national Chinese holiday in recognition of Feng, is embossed in Chinese characters.
