One more flight left.
Game 5 was another touch-and-go match. But it was the Mavs who did a lot more go, knocking in huge three pointers (13 in all) and key buckets in the fourth quarter to snag a 3-2 series lead with their 112-103 win last night. Yes of course Dirk led Dallas again with 29 but he got serious games from his teammates. Jason Terry (Reebok Zig Slash) came off the bench for 21, including a dagger 3 in the closing seconds, little J.J. Barea (Converse Star Player EVO Low) slayed with 17, including 4 of 5 from the arc, and Tyson Chandler and Jason Kidd (PEAK Kidd III) threw in 13 apiece. Shawn Marion joined Diggler and Chandler in wearing the Nike Hyperdunk 2010 for 8. He’d been in the Nike Air Max Fly By for most of the playoffs.
Miami’s fortunes hung on its Big Three again, and stayed hung. Dwyane Wade (Jordan Fly Wade) managed 23 while battling through an excruciating, enfeebling hip injury, LeBron (Nike LeBron 8 PS) one-upped his triple single last game for a triple double of 17, 10 and 10, and Chris Bosh (Nike Air Max Hyperdunk 2010) did his part with 19 and 10. The Heat bench played its best ball of the series, with Mario Chalmers (adidas adiZero Crazy Light) going for 15 with 4 threes, Udonis Haslem (Converse SICKS) doing 10, and Mike Miller (Nike Zoom KD III) hitting 3 threes for 9 points.
Both squads head back to Miami; the Heat to force a Game 7, the Mavs to wrap it up, B. There may be a big South Beach shindig Sunday night. And the city of Miami won’t be invited, which might hurt them more than the Heat losing. We shall see.
