For people who don’t like “The Kennedy” or OG Gray.
New Balance quietly plies its loyal following with retros of past hits. Some get myriad colorways and somewhat mass produced like the MT580 and the M574. Others get a couple makeups in somewhat smaller batches. The 999 fits the latter scenario. Part of the brand’s lauded 99X heritage series, the 999 originally hit retail in 1996 as a top line stability offering. Fast forward to 2011 where it recently found new life as the quite limited “Kennedy” edition, then in its original Gray look for a light release. This Black/Gray style tags along for the short ride. Black pigskin suede, gray trim, mesh insets, Abzorb cush underfoot, and stitched 999 marques comprise the retro feel. Available now at ShopNewBalance.
