LeBron posts 500,000.
Here’s a nice slice of info for LeBron or Swoosh Basketball fans that came out of the 2011 Nike Investor Update Meeting today (which you could have kept up with in real time @CounterKicks on Twitter).
Despite “The Decision” and all the circus that surrounded LeBron James and the Miami Heat this past 2010-11 NBA season, the Nike LeBron 8 shoe sold over 500,000 pairs. Nike LeBron 8 V/1 and V/2 regular season models retailed for $160, while the post season-designed LeBron 8 PS retailed for $150. If we do some quick and dirty math, we can assume this year’s signature LeBron shoe brought in a retail gross total north of $75 million dollars, perhaps as much or more than $100 million when the final tally is in. Someone get Nike Senior Basketball Designer Jason Petrie a raise! Or some stock options.
