NVRBRKN now open.
Last week was mens market week in NYC, where tradeshows bring the best brands—both new, old and established—to showcase their wares in the city that never sleeps. Along with a presence at the Project Tradeshow and a new season unveiling of apparel and footwear, DC Shoes partnered with Dave Ortiz (of Dave’s Quality Meat fame) for the opening of his newest venture, Dave’s Wear House. DC used the event to launch their newest line entitled NVRBRKN.
Over three hundred people came out to celebrate the opening at the shop at Baxter and Canal. Both the Fall and Holiday 2011 collections were on display. Items from the new head-to-toe product line include sneakers, varsity jackets, t-shirts and jeans. NVRBRKN (or Never Broken) pays homage to DC’s roots and the spirit of skateboarding—always overcoming and adapting to new surroundings. The NVRBRKN branded tagline says it all: “Never underestimate your opponent, never compromise, and never quit!”
The shop is Ortiz’s vision for a new menswear concept, different from the store that still bears his name, Dave’s Quality Meat, in the Lower East Side. Well known for his “Meat” tag and the DQM “Bacon” edition Nike Air Max 90, Dave’s Wear House is supposed to feel like a relaxed, local hangout featuring BMX and skateboarding equipment, apparel and footwear, as well as two shop exclusive lines: Crazee Dave’s and ADD. Ortiz will also be producing an in-house television show featuring interviews with famous friends and legends of the industry to give customers a unique, inclusive experience.
On the feet of party guests were plenty of Nike SB Eric Kostons, Converse Chuck Taylors, Vans, recent Nike and Jordan drops and of course, plenty of DC Shoes. You can check out the new DC Shoes x NVRBRKN line at Dave’s Wear House now at 123 Baxter Street in New York City.
