Drink your water, wear the bottle.
New Balance has something queued up for your feet and it’s green all over. The brand is set to release newSKY, a new footwear option with an upper made entirely from post-consumer plastic bottles. The premise is, as NB puts it, “part of a greater effort from New Balance to adopt more sustainable practices.”
New Balance Senior Designers Christine Hall and Drew Spieth sat down with NewBalance.com to discuss why newSKY’s upper material doesn’t work like regular shoe material, what newSKY has in common with NB Minimus, how plastic bottles translate into a shoe, and more. Check out pics of newSKY below and check out the full newSKY interview here. New Balance newSKY is targeted for an October release.
