You early-thirtysomethings should remember the Air Jordan 4 White/Cement vividly. Back in ’89, you were probably in elementary school, and probably ignoring what the teacher was writing on the overhead projector, fidgeting to get to lunch for your PBJ and Doritos, and using your shoes as all-terrain boots during recess (or “free play”). And if you were a Michael Jordan/Bulls fan, or a just kid with parents who bought you the popular shoes, you had these on running around the blacktop or knew someone who did. Ah yes, “Sky Jordans”. Sure they didn’t have the exact same materials and Nike Air blasting on the heel as the adult version but they still counted as Jordans. You knew this and strutted accordingly.
Now after a very quick appearance in 1999, the Air Jordan 4 in White/Cement is on its way back. These pics of the kids edition let us know generally what to expect from the adult size when they both hit retail February 18, 2012 for $160 and $110, respectively. No, your pair of Cement 4’s won’t have Nike Air on the heel next year but they’ll still count as Jordans. And you’ll know this and strut accordingly.
