Fila Cage Runner To Uncage In 3 Colorways For Spring/Summer 2012

Taking its inspiration from a Kendo fighting mask, the OG 1993 Fila Cage was released at the height of Fila’s popularity. With its huge padded and ribbed tongue and unmistakable heel counter, it was considered a classic of a creative and diverse time period in sneaker history. Despite its striking looks, it has long remained a forgotten relic… That is, until now.

Stepping up their game, Fila has been making a come back of late, and Sole Recon (www.solerecon.com) has just released production images of the new Fila running silhouette. The Cage Runner unapologetically reinterprets the design language from its older brother to create a fresh new style for the brand.

While faithfully replicating the ribbed tongue and ‘cage’ eyestay, the main focal point of the Cage Runner is the neoprene counter panel, which features a heavily embossed memory foam heel, reminiscent of the most distinctive OG Cage feature.

Dropping in Spring/Summer 2012 and available in 3 colors: Black /Arcadia Green, Wild Dove/Yellow and White/Blue Iris/Red.
