JET’s gold Championship shoes.
Luckily for Jason Terry, tattooing the Larry O’Brien Trophy on his right bicep before the start of the 2010-11 NBA season eventually worked out. Now that he’s got his chip, he’s also got a pair of flashy new kicks to match when the Dallas Mavericks take on the Miami Heat on Christmas Day.
Reebok is calling these shoes the Zig Pro Future “JET Champ” PE edition. Here’s more background from the Vector brand on how the player exclusive kicks were created:
Jason Terry essentially designed it himself. He was at Reebok Headquarters back in August and sat down with some of our designers to create a special shoe to celebrate his NBA Championship. He wanted a bold gold upper to demand attention on the court, and obviously plays off the color of the Larry O’Brien trophy. After that, Dallas Mavericks colors were added to the shoe to work with the uniform on-court and an interpretation of the championship trophy was added with the JET logo to represent both his recent championship and infamous tattoo.
While you’ll find these lighting up the court at American Airlines Arena on Sunday, you won’t be able to find them in stores as Reebok tells us they’ll remain a one-off special makeup edition only for JET.
