“We built Lob City. We built Lob City on C-P-3. Built Lob City…”

Driving, dishing, dropping, and directing. It was what Clipper faithful and basketball fans anticipated from Chris Paul’s red, white and blue debut. And he delivered.

In the midst of playoff-like anticipation, Paul notched a statline of 17 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists, and 5 steals as the remixed Clippers kicked the across-the-hall rival Lakers in the tooth, 114-95. CP3, in his Red/White Jordan CP3.V‘s, established a wily backcourt rapport with fellow new Clipper Chauncey Billups (adidas adiZero Ghost), who put in a game high 23. Blake Griffin (Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011) and DeAndre Jordan (Under Armour Micro G Funk) got to stretch their legs on some very expected dunks; one of Jordan’s came off a Paul underhanded toss, instantly living up to the Griffin coined “Lob City” title. Kobe kept his Kobe VII‘s on ice, instead giving the Kobe VI extended air to help him score 22.

Charlotte rookie Kemba Walker got his first taste of NBA action last night when the Hawks visited and got beat by the Bobcats, 79-77. The Under Armour face scored 18 off the bench in his White/Orange UA Micro G Juke‘s. Teammate Boris Diaw dusted off an oldie with the Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 for 12 and other teammate Tyrus Thomas kept his Air Jordan 13 “Flint” run alive with 6 and 9. For Atlanta, Josh Smith, the guy most linked to the adiZero Ghost, opted for the adidas Pro Model 2010 Lux for 11 and 7.

In Portland, with Brandon Roy amnestied/retired and LaMarcus Aldridge recovering from a heart procedure, you’d think the Blazers wouldn’t have enough to upend the potent Jazz. Make that more than enough. The Blazers quieted the Jazz 110-90. Ray Felton (adidas adiZero Ghost) started for his fourth team in six seasons last night with 9 points. Derrick Favors came off the Jazz bench for 25 and 12 in the Ghost and a suddenly-PEAKless Gordon Hayward donned Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2010‘s for 7 and 4.

As always, these kicks and more ahead in NBA Kicks. Watch for a video of Clippers highlights so you can see Lob City begin construction.
