If It Weren’t For The Rocky Mountains, This Would Have Been Kobe Bryant’s First Nike Signature Shoe

Kobe’s former flame.

Unlike Harry and Lloyd, Kobe Bryant’s past experience with Colorado probably doesn’t lead him to say that John Denver is full of shit, man.

What turned out to be one of Nike Basketball’s biggest selling and consumer esteemed silhouettes of the ’00 decade, the Air Zoom Huarache 2K4, was actually primed to be the first Black Mamba signature ride before Kobe took his Rocky Mountain ride. In 2012, the sneaker returns and one of the first reissue colorways just happens to match perfectly as a Lakers road game model.

We first showed you this Black and Varsity Maize styled retro of the Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 last year and expect plenty more colors on the way.

Even though Kobe’s single now, his feet are still happily wed to his official Kobe/Swoosh signature line (now in its ninth seventh season!) so probably don’t expect to see these come back to Player 24 anytime soon.

will definitely pick up a few more pairs. Not the biggest fan of the fit but loved the court feel and silhouette.
