Who gives a Flip? Rip.
The Bulls took care of the visiting Bobcats last night, 95-89, with the same team play that’s gotten them through all four games they’ve played without Derrick Rose and his sprained big left toe. Carlos Boozer carried the load with 23 and 9, and Luol Deng stepped in with 22 and 8, but perhaps the most important contribution towards Chicago’s third win of those four Rose-less games was Rip Hamilton’s season high 20.
Rip’s not the gunner he was eight years ago, or even three. But he can still put the ball in the net and drop 20 to 25 points any given night, which is why the Bulls signed him. What’s even more remarkable about his trusty performance over this recent stretch is the fact he’s played it in the Air Jordan 3 Retro “Black Flip”, a shoe better suited for jeans and errands than pro uniforms and NBA games. Then again, that’s what PE’s are for.
