Technically, it wasn’t a dunk. Blake Griffin elevated, extended and powered it in over Kendrick Perkins. But didn’t quite dunk it. No rim-grabbing or pull-down. He did the same thing on Timofey Mozgov back in November 2010. Spectacular, yes. Rim-rocking slam? No.
He did have a dunk though if you count the Clippers flavored Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011‘s he was wearing. So dunk by proxy. He finished with 22 and 7 and a 112-100 win over the Thunder. Kevin Durant did what he could for 36 and 13 in his standard issue road Nike Zoom KD IV.
Other sneaker highlights of the night included Derrick Rose dropping 35 on the Wiz in his recently debuted adiZero Rose 2.5, Brandon Jennings getting the UA Bloodline “Black” some run for 21 in a win over the Pistons, Von Wafer and Earl Clark holding down the Jordan 3 Black/Cement and Penny Foam game, Delonte West doing 25 off the bench in the Nike Air Max Uptempo 2 “Duke”, and more.
Watch the Blake Griffin videos included, the first on Perkins and then the old one on Mozgov. Both cool, both throw-ins. Footage don’t lie!
