NBA Kicks: 87.5% Of The 2012 All-Stars Wore Nike

Nike’s the real ASG MVP.

Twenty-one of the 24 players participating in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game wore Nike (counting Jordan Brand as Swoosh product). That’s crazy, crazy brand presence. Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose were the only holdouts because of pesky adidas contracts, and Kevin Love decided to show love to his overseas brand 361 Degrees. Actually, KL has been wearing Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011’s for Minnesota for awhile now, so we could count him as a Nike-wearer-by-association. That would bring the Nike ASG total to 22 of 24 players, or 91.7%.

Phil Knight gets a Naismith Hall of Fame nod and the NBA All-Star Game MVP over one weekend, all without touching a basketball.

Each and every shoe that was worn in last night’s starry exhibition ahead in NBA Kicks…

funniest part is that ADIDAS actually has the better performing shoes by far last year AND this year…… so 87.5% of the players aren’t performing to their peak!

I guess that’s one of the reasons for the drastic increase of price in Nike hoop shoes, they had to pay all those guys to wear’em.
