Spalding bounces back into sneakers.
They’re being worked out on NBA hardwood this season by the likes of Jimmer Fredette, Mario Chalmers and Chris Singleton. Soon, you’ll have that opportunity too. Spalding has returned to the basketball footwear business and this shoe is the first model set to hit stores.
Featuring a mesh upper, synthetic overlays, and D30 impact cushioning (previously employed on BALL’N kicks), Spalding tells us the new hoops shoes are ready to enter retail in about another month. According to press release, the product “will arrive at sports specialty and online retail stores, including select Finish Line stores, finishline.com, dickssportinggoods.com, West-coast based Shiekh stores and others.”
UPDATE: Spalding informs us the shoes will retail in the $90 range.

UGLIEST SHOES OF ALL TIME
Not a bad looking shoe.
Logos dont look that great though
never had D3O b4 but might wanna try…not absolutely terrible looking but pretty bad. stick to the hardwood with these
But they look better than the AJ2012′s!!!!!!!!!
better than the air jordan 2012′s!
Jorge, stop hating to hate those do not look better then the 2012.
WILL NOT SELL at $90. If Durants are still on the shelf at clearance prices, from a known commodity, these are asking for $30 racks in a month. That said, I like the grey/red colorway, and the d30 cushioning, if the same as the Ball’N, is GREATNESS. Looking forward to trying them, although at a $60 price.
I like them and i’m getting a few pair of those spalding basketball sneakers
What a train wreck. I know there are so many hurdles to get a product to market, but by the looks of these they tripped over each one.
Robin u do not know and try them ok
The design is a nice start-off, hope the performance matches.
I hope they’ll do some retro’s too.
Fair enough. If I see them in stores I’ll try them on. keyword: IF.
i can see what they were going for. i mean, in terms of the concept, it looks as if they were going for a lightweight shoe and accomplished it by using a mesh upper. in terms of structural support and strength, they used a webbing of plastic at key points of pressure. the design works, but it also feels like it could have been explored better and done in a more dynamic way. not the prettiest thing on the market, but in terms of the idea, i’m pretty sure all designers have had a sketch that looks like that shoe at some point in their life.
For $90.00 I can get a pair of Kevin Durant shoes. They don’t even have superstars endorsing the shoes. Spalding gone end up bankrupt if they gone get a superstar or 2 to endorse these shoes.
Titusmark would u ever try the sneakers at the basketball court
mrfresh88: if it was light, responsive and comfortable…absolutely.
in terms of aesthetics, i could really care less if it were ugly, as long as it delivered in terms of price and performance.
Russell should get all of their NCAA teams outfitted in these shoes for next season.
You think it is ugly? You should look at the ones Adidas put out…
^^^ Really? Which ones? I am looking for ugly shoes and your Pro Model sold out.
good looking shoe design wise and looking forward to see how they use the d3o. not too thrilled about the 90 pricing tho. *shrugs
UH IM GOING TO BE SICK AHHH TOO LATE ! THESE KICKS AINT GOOD ENOUGH TO CLEAN THE PIG PEN IN. PLEASSSSSE !
cool! what shoe store I can find these sneakers?
