NBA Kicks: O Air Jordan 2012, We’ve Hardly Known Ye

You were probably expecting a lot more when the Air Jordan 2012 released roughly 10 weeks ago. Not more performance or colorways, just more in the visual range sense. Player exclusives galore, everybody would be doing it, that sort of thing. Instead, Jordan Brand’s marquee product has taken the off-off-off-off-off-off-off Broadway approach, seen so little that you wonder how they justify putting on the show. Sure, Gerald Wallace finally stepped into the AJ 2012 light last night. Sure, Kevin MartinStephen Jackson and Juwan Howard have had tiny turns in their PE’s. But where’s the big guns? The big rollout? I’m looking at you Dwyane, Ray, JJ, Mike, Quentin and Jared. No none of this slipping the shoe on during shootaround three hours before a road game in Portland on a rainy Wednesday in February, that doesn’t count. A string of games, national TV exposure, that’s what Air Jordan fans expected. Remember 2005 when Ray was in Sonics AJ XX’s enough to cover every Jordan athlete five times over and Melo had the powder blue XX PE scene on lock? That’s what you expect. Has JB dammed up the Air Jordan 2012 creek on purpose so they can use the reserves to irrigate the NBA Playoffs with all sorts of PE’s on all sorts of Jordan athletes? A grand plan? Sadly, as we’ve done these last 10 weeks, we’ll have to wait and see.

NBA Kicks with Gerald in 2012′s, another Gerald in Concords, Greivis trying Hornets UA Bloodlines, Jerome Dyson putting the Nike Zoom Rookie to the test, and some other selections…

There’s a reason for that, Jordan 2012 is a fashion-shoe, comfy, solid, but nothing spectacular(except the stitch-work of course), every serious baller, that had ‘em, quickly switched back after 1, or 2 games, because they’re simply not build for a lot of basketball.

Shannon Brown’s XIV’s much better, and if you look carefully, the same fundamental ‘bone-structure’ as the 2012, only better executed.

Vasquez Bloodlines(I’m sad he wears too small a size :( , I really wanted these) :P
