One-two punch.
The moment we’ve all been patiently waiting for since the commence of the tourney has finally arrived. Only two teams were strong enough to dominate in the field of 64 to rise to the top of the competition: the No. 2 ranked, adidas-sponsored Kansas Jayhawks and the Nike-supported Kentucky Wildcats, brandishing a top seed. Louisville’s brightly colored jerseys weren’t enough to derail the Wildcats behind twin Air Jordan 10 representatives, Terrence Jones and Anthony Davis. Wildcat players also unveiled two fresh models of the Nike Zoom KD IV while the Louisville players kept running with the adiZero Crazy Light, adiZero Crazy Light 2, adiZero Shadow, and adiZero Rose 2 shoes throughout most of the tournament.
Ohio State couldn’t build on the momentum they garnered from their battle with Syracuse in the previous week to knock Kansas off their block. Despite wearing ‘Playoff’ Jordan 13′s, Jared Sullinger’s performance resembled much more of a preseason opener than a win-or-go-home situation. William Buford stayed true wearing his iD version of the Zoom Kobe VI and Travis Releford kept things at a nice speed with the adidas Crazy Light.
So here we are. Two contenders left. adidas vs. Nike on the grand stage. Which brand and team will come out on top?
