adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 Prototypes, Pullovers, Sketches & Samples By Designer Robbie Fuller

Whittling down a vision for a sub-10 ounce basketball shoe takes a lot of work (see: this post). After hitting the mark with the original Crazy Light, adidas Category Designer for Global Advanced Footwear Robbie Fuller set out to do it all over again.

Here’s a full set collection of prototypes, pullovers, sketches and samples that represents the process going into creating the new 9.5 ounce, lightest basketball shoe ever. All of Robbie’s labor comes to ultimate fruition on May 24, when you can buy his adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 for $140 in five styles. This is the journey that started it…

Yes, I’ve been waiting to see this stuff! Love looking at the different stages before arriving at the final product. The third one down on the left reminds me of the adizero cleats and how the lows might look.

Agreed, Destinty. Love seeing the process and I think Robbie and the adi team dialed down the final version Crazy Light 2 as fast and strong looking as they could get it.
