No low-rent ballroom ceremony or stained plywood plaque for LeBron. Nike’s “Employee of the Year” picked up his third Most Valuable Player award last night in a Commish-sanctioned presentation, the highest acclaim an NBA player can receive besides winning a ring being Finals MVP (Ouch. Too soon?). Well deserved, though. LBJ averaged 27.1 points, 7.9 boards, 6.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game while leading Miami to a 46-20 regular season record, good for 2nd best tally in the East and 4th in the league.
Nike, as expected, had Bron covered for the occasion. The LeBron 9 MVP stood out on his feet with Heat flavored gradient tones and speckling. Then went to work to get a Game 1 win over the Pacers.
