Show of hands: Who switched off the Thunder-Lakers game last night when it looked like OKC couldn’t get L.A.’s lead below nine points in the fourth quarter? And then who checked ESPN.com and saw the 103-100 Thunder win? The Lakers were looking to tie up the series last night but Kevin Durant broke that dream, Game 4′s 98-98 late tie, and probably the Lakers season. With the final 26 seconds shrinking, KD surveyed the floor, slow dribbled into range, and launched a pull up, ice cold dagger three from 26 feet out, helping OKC wrap up another comeback for the win and a 3-1 series lead. He took the court again in his black and orange Nike Zoom KD IV, finishing with 31 and 13, while Russell Westbrook went back to last season’s Nike Zoom Hyperfuse for a game-high 37. Kobe was Kobe for 38 points, 8 boards and 5 assists in the Nike Kobe VI “Cheetah”. Besides learning that some Lakers fans like to vaporize underperforming players via Twitter, this series has taught us that as long as there’s a full 48 to play, OKC never dies.
