We’re way past the era of slapping colors and logos on mesh and calling it a sports uniform. Designers today find inspiration from anything related to the school or city for which the team plays. Having welcomed Chicago’s Northwestern University to the fold earlier this year, Under Armour set out to put NU’s DNA on its new uniforms. Turns out they had the stones to do it. Stones from campus buildings. Ivy. Layout. Check the video below for a behind-the-scenes on how UA created the Northwestern Wildcats’ 2012-13 athletic uniforms and what role the “500 50 5 foot read” played in the process.

cool video!!!
Wow, they looked at all of the buildings and were inspired to put STRIPES on a football uniform! Truly innovative. These guys aren’t full of shit at all!
