When Nike bought Converse in summer 2003 for $305 million, the stage was set for the brand with the Star Chevron to boost its profile with some of Nike’s coveted technology. The idea of a Converse shoe using Nike Flywire was floated one year ago but faded back into the quiet until now. Here’s the first look at that Cons shoe with Flywire – the MVP Mid. The basis of the shoe is its molded and vented upper, similar to the Converse DefCON in build, that blends in with the midsole. Nike Flywire covers the toe box in a radial line pattern, with a “Flywire” word mark sitting at the base of the eyerows. Seen here in Neon Orange/Black and Gunmetal/Black, there will be more to come on the Converse MVP Mid as this story develops. Thanks to CounterKicks reader Aaron J. for the tip.
