Sneak Peek At 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games Gear

Reebok has new gear for the CrossFit Games, including the new CrossFit Nano 2.0. Read up about it below.

Today, Reebok unveils a sneak peek at the official footwear and apparel for the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games. The performance footwear and apparel, which will be showcased by the world’s fittest at this year’s Games, was designed based on feedback from some of the world’s top athletes and delivers a better fit, with better fabrication and allows more functional movement than ever before.

The Reebok CrossFit footwear and apparel collection was first introduced at the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games, CrossFit’s fifth annual fitness competition to crown the Fittest on Earth™. The 2011 Games marked Reebok’s first year as the title sponsor and the exclusive apparel supplier of CrossFit and the CrossFit Games. Since that time, Reebok and CrossFit have worked together, alongside top CrossFit athletes, to build a collection that specifically caters to the specific needs of CrossFitters. This year’s Games gear features new footwear and a collection of apparel which provides multiple options for layering, outerwear and compression.

First introduced at the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games, the Reebok CrossFit Nano quickly became one of the brand’s most popular shoes – in any category. Anyone who saw the 2011 Games, no doubt noticed the yellow Reebok CrossFit Nano. This year, Reebok brings new design and structural improvements to the exciting, hard-to-miss Charged Green Reebok CrossFit Nano 2.0. The 2.0, which delivers increased breathability, greater flexibility and superior stability, will be worn by many of the top competitors at this year’s Games including Rich Froning, Chris Spealler, Graham Holmberg, Jason Khalipa, Annie Thorisdottir, Kristan Clever, Becca Voigt, Julie Foucher and many others.

The Charged Green Reebok CrossFit Nano 2.0 will be available to the public at the Home Depot Center during the games and online at http://shopcrossfitreebok.com/ beginning Monday, July 16th.

In addition, Reebok athletes Rich Froning Jr. and Annie Thorisdottir, the winners of the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games, will wear customized versions of the Reebok CrossFit Nano 2.0 at this weekend’s CrossFit Games. A limited number of pairs of versions of their shoes will be available for sale at the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games at the Home Depot Center.

On the apparel front, new to this year’s Reebok CrossFit Games gear is the addition of layering options. Competitors will receive an extended product offering including six complete outfits, to meet the need for different apparel for different WODs. New for this year, is compression apparel, which not only features antimicrobial technology, but offers hot weather compression protection-technology specially designed to help keep competitors cool, even in the California sun and heat.

Finally, the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games gear will also see an entirely new graphic placement scheme. At the 2012 Games, all athlete apparel will feature the athlete’s name, number and affiliate gym. The graphic placement was determined by the unique CrossFit movements. For example, graphics are placed not only in traditional areas, but also on areas such as the shoulders and lats – places where graphics aren’t typically placed in other competitive sports – but shine during movements found in CrossFit WODs. The graphics are inspired by the CrossFit community, and allow the athlete to showcase their individuality, while maintaining a consistent look that speaks to the solidarity of the community.
