Another preseason game, another Way of Wade colorway, and LeBron finally wears X’s in a game is the headlining news for this issue of NBA Kicks.
Dwyane Wade’s Li-Ning rollout continued today in Shanghai where the Heat finished their China trip by avenging Thursday’s loss to the Clippers with a 99-89 payback. DW donned the black and gold “Beijing” edition for the loss back in Beijing, and unveiled his white, black and red “Shanghai” look in… you guessed it, Shanghai. Seven points in eight minutes but cut him some slack, he’s still getting back all the way from the knee surgery. And we’re focused on the shoes right now anyway, not stats in an exhibition.
LeBron, after keeping X fans waiting last game by wearing the Nike Zoom Soldier VI, finally indulged himself. He strode into the arena in Cutting Jades, then chose Carbons to put up 11, 3, 4 and 3. He even showed them off to Shanghai Sharks owner Yao Ming, who was hanging courtside. Not so much showing them off as walking over to Yao.
Other kicks highlights of the weekend include Nate Robinson settling into his Air Jordan retro ways with AJ 6 Black/Varsity Reds, Nick Young taking on the Nets in Atlantic City with Foams, Monta Ellis bringing Kilroy to the court with red “Motorboat Jones” 9’s.
There’s more to check out, of course, like Jrue Holiday leading the Crazy Light 2 brigade once again and Luke Ridnour refusing to jettison his Kobe V’s. Check it all out now in NBA Kicks.
