Actually he didn’t. (We can assume.) Your guess is as good as ours.
So… does anyone know why exactly Rajon Rondo wore Nike Air Foamposite One shoes in bright ass “Polarized Pink” with his Celtic green uniform on court tonight?
The NBA only allows wacky alternate colored shoes that’s not part of your team’s colors on what’s designated as Special Event Games. LeBron can theoretically get away with his gold themed Nike LeBron X’s because it was ring ceremony night and the Heat unveiled their new championship banners at home.
What’s Rondo’s excuse? You too, Jeff Green.

because its breast cancer awareness month. smarten up.
breast cancer dumbass
NBA uniform rules don’t let you wear the color pink at a whim, though. He could get away with it because of that, but the league lays out “Special Event Game” designated nights on a calendar before the season starts that sets specifically what colors you’re allowed to wear. As far as I know, all “special” shoes need to be approved by the league in advance of wearing them, too.
yeah i think they mentioned in the broadcast that they were approved. any idea if the celts can get away with some of the volt colorways they were rocking in the preseason? how flashy is too flashy?
@Neverbroke did they during broadcast? All I know is there is no such thing as a given month where you can “wear whatever color you want” with your official team color uniforms in the league, no matter how nice the intention might be. It’s typically limited to individual Special Event nights (1 day only) like Christmas, Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, etc. Giving a reason is one thing, but it has to be actually approved by the league in advance. If it is in this case, issue resolved. I’ve never seen in any past seasons players wearing all pink shoes though on opening night, so it would be a special clearance case if that’s how it went.
yeah i think during the broadcast they just stated why they were wearing the pink shoes, not necessarily that it was approved by the league. i’m trying to think if the pink thing was ever a big thing in the nba. its definitely huge in the nfl
Like I said, it’s a reason, sure, but there’s mapped out rules too here otherwise players could come up with reasons for wearing all sorts of alternate colors whenever they want. Personally, I couldn’t care less that he wore those colors, I’m just wondering if they were even approved by the league in advance as that’s what you’re normally supposed to do and I’ve never seen it in past seasons. He loves those Foams though.
rondo and green showing support, good for them
Are you completely stupid???? It’s for breast cancer awareness!!! Don’t you watch football? You must have a very very low IQ
