One of the only visiting player that beats me to the arena.
I absolutely dislike Kobe Bryant. I do not like his game, and I do not like his off court persona either. However, I like the sneakers, then may have to cop a pair of those.
I liked him before the whole “black mamba” when he had a ‘fro and was air balling three’s in Utah. Sticking that lower jaw out makes me wish Artest still played for Houston. But I do like the 8′s. Really, I have liked every shoe he has put out except the Adidas 2 and the 2K4.
I’m affraid the Lakers will need to lose a coach, before they’re getting anything.(in-case the Lakers forgot, ‘loving Pau = Championships’, ‘not loving Pau = Struggle’ it did with Phil, it did with D’Antoni, LOVE PAU).
The shoes are nice, not this colorway though.

this season has proved that Kobe Bryant is the most overrated player in NBA history. He has a HOF point guard, possible HOF Power Forward and center, and he can’t it done. For a guy that is supposedly top ten all time on his fans lists, because I personally do not think that he is top ten, nor even top fifteen all time, to have the cast that he has, then not being able to bring them together as a unit, proves how over hyped Kobe is by his fans. Great volume shooter, decent defender at times, but completely overrated as being a transcendent, once in a generation type player.
However, the shoe pictured is nice.
Have to agree with mede. Never thought Kobe was a top 10-15 player. Great scorer, decent defender but that’s it. He’s been severely overrated bc the league needed another “Jordan” type player so that’s what the league/announcers/etc pushed him as, even as a rookie. They knew Jordan only had a couple years left.
And MJ didn’t have a 7-1, 350 pound Shaq during his 3-peats or a Gasol so you could theoretically asterisk Kobe’s titles. MJ was the main man for all his rings. Kobe needed star bigs to get his.
Anyone who thinks Kobe is in the same universe as MJ in any way is stupid.
Lebron in 31 of 38 games this season has hit 50% of his shorts. Jordan territory efficiency wise (different situations and rules notwithstanding).
Kobe has 9 games under 40% shooting and 22 under 50%.
Massive inconsistency.

wow, kobes gets no love i guess…his shot selection is indefensible, but the guy does have 30,000+ pts, 5000+ assist & rebs, overrated? call me stupid but i think is a definitely a top 10-15 player, and i’ll never understand why people are so quick to bring shaq up as a negative, when EVERY great player we think of (besides hakeem olajuwon; whicj maybe speaks to level of competition of that era’s nba?) has won with great teammates; so i think that the ‘being the man’ argument doesn’t hold all that much weight.
i definitely thought this laker team would be better than they are currently but i didn’t really think they’d be sitting atop the westeither though. w/ a 38 yo pg would doesn’t shoot enough and isn’t a good defender (understatemnet maybe?), a 34 yo sg who shoots too much, a lumbering artest (who has seems to be contributing more) gasol who hasn’t looked good (other than in the olys, where he was a focal pt for offense) for a good minute now, & d12 who is coming off an injury. [sidebar: it has been all donwhill since they traded lamar]…they are an OLD team that struggles on D, pretty much where you’d expect an old team whose coach preaches uptempo offense, over defense…
though part me wants to think, kobe is somehow, purposely sabotaging this season as revenge against steve nash & [no] D’antoni, dwight, & pau for some arbitrary petty reason…
