Suns rookie point and Team Jordan member Kendall Marshall hasn’t had the smoothest first year in the NBA. Between coaching changes in Phoenix, disjointed player rotations, uneven minutes off the bench and time in the D-League, the former 13th overall pick out of UNC is still getting his sea legs, if you will, learning the ropes as the Suns’ floor general without the guidance of Steve Nash.
But his numbers are up. He’s averaged 2.9 points and 2.6 assists in 14 minutes this season but over the last 10 games, those numbers have ticked up to 4.5 points, 4.7 assists in 20.2 minutes. And that trend continued last night against the Kings as Marshall, lacing up the Black/Electric Green Air Jordan XX8, started at the 1 spot and contributed 9 points, 1 rebound, 10 assists and 2 steals in 34 minutes.
Took awhile but he’s arriving. Now it’s up to the Suns to keep him there.
NBA Kicks ahead with Kendall, Marcus Morris in KD V “Texas”, Brandon and Monta toppling the Lakers, 10-Day contractee Justin Dentmon trying to find his answer in Dallas, and the rest of Thursday night’s roundup…
