Streaks are in the New York air this spring. The Knicks won their 11th straight game with last night’s 101-83 home win over the Bucks, Melo laced up the Jordan Melo M8 Advance for the fifth game in a row, and he notched 40 or more points for the third straight game with his latest stat line of 41 points, 14 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block. While it remains unclear why Melo switched back the Advance, you can’t argue with the results. His 5-game sneaker streak began on March 29 in Charlotte, and between then and last night he’s averaged 37.4 points. That’s nearly nine more than his season average.

“It’s April, I guess. It’s April. It’s time to go,” Anthony said during postgame interviews.

See, it’s the changing of the seasons. And maybe the shoes.

Wouldn’t it be very plausible that Melo just goes with what gave the Knicks/ him such success earlier in the season? Even JR Smith sticks to his Hyperdunk 2012 Lows these days instead of switching it up now that he’s so in a groove attacking the rim.

^Probably so. I think it has to do with his knee. Probably likes the stability of the 8 advance, though the 9 is a wonderful shoe and in my opinion, a little better all around.
