The Pacers know they could be up 2-0 right now but 1-1 heading home against a Heat squad expected to steamroll to another title ain’t bad. Indiana took Game 2 97-93 thanks to Roy Hibbert’s 29 points and 10 rebounds, and 22 points and one massive mash over Birdman from Paul George. LeBron again carried the Heat, generating 36 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals, 1 block and 5 turnovers, the last of which helped Indiana wrap up the split.
The established series storylines continued in earnest — Pacers team defense, fluid Heat offense, Miami having no answer for Roy Hibbert, Indiana having no answer for LeBron, Paul George approaching bona fide star status, Dwyane Wade’s balkier-than-let-on knee hampering his production. The 2013 NBA Championship is still thought to be Miami’s to lose but if these variables continue to hold, Indiana might be playing their first NBA Finals in 13 years.
Let’s check out some of the notable sneakers from Game 2 but first, a word from Paul George.
