The adidas adizero Crazy Light weighed in at 9.8 ounces, the Crazy Light 2 at 9.5 ounces. So what did adidas do for Crazy Light 3? That’s right, made it lighter. The brand with the three stripes brought the CL3 in at 9.4 ounces, keeping the shoe’s focus on light weight performance.
How did they keep the Crazy Light 3 light while bumping up the cushioning and ankle support, and debuting 4-layer SprintWeb? Good question. According to a press release, adidas says they’ve “added foam in key areas to improve comfort and support while the ankle collar is sixteen percent thicker and a 3D molded tongue enhances comfort for the foot” and that the “enlarged asymmetrical SprintFrame allows for maximum motion control and the radial wave bone traction system features a new and improved multi-level surface for maximum grip and flexibility.”
Crazy Light 3 is getting some summer run on the feet of Ricky Rubio, Mike Conley Jr., and Jrue Holiday on the adidas Quick vs. Fast tour through China. You’ll be be able to snag a pair of CL3 on August 1 with 10 colorways to choose from at adidas.com, Foot Locker and Eastbay. Retail is $140.
